Ein Mabua is a beautiful desert oasis in the Judean Desert teeming with life! We’ll start the day with a short hike and chance for the kids to go in the water. This is a great way for the kids to get some of their energy out in the beginning of the day!
Before the Temple stood in Jerusalem, the Mishkan in Shiloh was the center of Jewish worship for 369 years! This is where all of Israel would go three times a year for the Aliya LaRegel Pilgrimage. Shiloh is also where Chana prayed for her son Shmuel who became the leader of Israel and anointed the first Kings.
We’ll do a short hike/walk around the archaeological site, including the site where archaeologists say the Mishkan actually stood!
Avraham Hertzlich left the fast paced life in New York in 1966 to become a shepherd in Israel, returning to the ancient lifestyle of the Patriarchs. Today he tends his flock outside the small town of Tapuach in the Shomron. Avraham will greet us in his tent and tell us about his life as a shepherd and the insights he has gained from living this lifestyle. The kids will have an opportunity to hold the baby goats.
The Gvaot winery is a unique winery that sits on the ruins of an ancient winery from the First Temple period. Using the latest in wine making techniques they produce some of the finest wines Israel has to offer! We’ll get a tour of the winery, and an opportunity for the adults to taste some of their offerings while the kids do arts and crafts.
We will see where Abraham stood near Beit El when G-d promised the Land of Israel to his children for all generations. From here you can see down to Tel Aviv on the coast Jerusalem in the north and the Judean Desert in the east. From here you can also see the traditional site of Jacob’s dream!
