A great place to stay in the North – HaMeiri Estate in Rosh Pinna
Hotel or Bed and Breakfast?
When traveling in Israel, most people stay at hotels. There’s something very nice about the convenience of a hotel. But sometimes you want something completely different. Maybe you’re looking for a romantic place to stay for a couples get away, or just would like a more intimate experience of the area you are touring. That’s the time to consider a Bed and breakfast, or in Hebrew a “Tzimmer”. One of the best is HaMeiri Estate in Rosh Pinna.
HaMeiri Estate – One of my favorite places to stay in Israel.
When I head North whether with tourists or for a vacation with my family, one of my favorite places to stay is Achuzat HaMeiri – The HaMeiri Estate! It combines history, luxury, hospitality and a spectacular view all at a reasonable price.
The HaMeiri Estate is actually one of the first estates built in Rosh Pinna. Glila the host is descended from the original family who built it in the late 1800’s. Her husband of blessed memory completely refurbished the old stone buildings of the Estate, adding in all of the modern amenities that you would expect from a new hotel. Today it features several couples rooms and a larger suite that can host a small family. Each unit is beautifully furnished and includes a Jacuzzi bath, espresso maker, small fridge etc. Glila usually welcome her guests with a small bottle of wine and home baked cookies.
The grounds are magnificent with a breathtaking view of the Hula valley, the Golan Heights and even Mt. Hermon. If you choose to stay at the HaMeiri Estate, try to check in while it’s still light out so that you can fully appreciate the beautiful grounds and the view. When I stat there, I love to get up early and watch the sun rise over the Golan Heights!
The one down side is that if you book through booking.com, the booking includes breakfast at the cafe next door which is not Kosher. If you keep Kosher, contact me and I can arrange a special price that doesn’t include breakfast. There are several kosher options just down the hill including Gregg’s Cafe.
