‘This is the Gate of Heaven’
A tour of ancient Israelite places of worship Beit El, Shiloh, Mt. Gerizim/Eival.
Sunday, April 25th, 2021
For 3,000 years, Jews have turned to Jerusalem as the focus of our worship. But before Jerusalem, Jacob called Beit El the ‘Gate of Heaven’. When the People of Israel entered the Land they were commanded to formalize their covenant with God at Mt. Gerizim and Mt. Eival. Joshua then built a national center of worship at Shiloh that functioned for 369 years. On this day of the Samaritan Passover we will explore these ancient Israelite centers of worship.
What the tour includes:
Beit El – The site of Jacob’s Dream
Shiloh – The site of the Mishkan (Tabernacle)
Mt Gerizim – A visit to the Samaritan Museum and the location of the Passover Sacrifice.
Lunch at the Kabir Winery – The winery has a spectacular view of Mt. Gerizim and Mt. Eival. We’ll have a group lunch and wine tasting.
Price: $125 USD including all entrance fees, lunch and wine tasting.
