In the Footsteps of Jewish Heroes

This is a fun and educational tour loved by children and adults alike. It’s full of epic views, crawling in caves, spectacular scenery and lots of sites from the Tanach and Jewish history.

Begins 9 Am

  • Manoach’s Altar – See a 3,000 year old stone altar from the time of the Shoftim which is in the location where the Tanach says Shimshon’s parents Manoach and his wife saw the angel ascend to the sky. It may be the very Altar mentioned in the Story in Tanach.
  • Ancient Tzorah – The city where Shimshon was born.
  • Tel Beit Shemesh – Crawl in ancient Jewish tombs from the time of the Shoftim (they are now empty). See the site where the ark was returned by the Plishtim. Enter an underground water system from 3,000 years ago with flashlights.
  • Several Lunch Options at a Kosher Food Court in the Big Fashion Mall in Beit Shemesh
  • Tel Azeka – Climb the hill of ancient Azeka for an epic view of the battlefield of David and Goliath. Make your own sling just like the one David used to fight Goliath.
  • Bar Kochba Caves – crawl through the caves where Jews hid from the Romans during the Bar Kochba Revolt

Jerusalem Adventure Hike

Work off the Matza with this fun and fascinating hike through valleys and up hills around the Old City. Perfect for people keeping Second day Yom Tov. 

This is a unique tour has become one of my most popular. You’ll come out of this tour with a completely new understanding of the history and symbolism of Jerusalem. Your kids will love running free in the open areas outside of the city.

This tour is 4 hours on foot with lots of ups and downs. Not recommended for those with mobility issues

Begin at 2:30 at Tachana Rishona (The Old Train Station on David Remez)

  • Givat HaTanach – Stand in the exact place where Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, David and the Maccabees stood.
  • The Mt. Zion Cable Car – Used secretly by the heroes of the War of Independence kept the Jews on Mt. Zion supplied even while they were cut off from West Jerusalem
  • Ben Hinnom Valley – Gehinnom is named after this valley where there was a Temple to Molech in ancient times. Today it’s a beautiful nature reserve in the middle of the city.
  • Kever David – For generations scholars have argued about the authenticity of this site. Learn about new evidence that supports the traditional location of Kever David as the actual tomb of King David.
  • Second Temple Mikvahs 
  • Hulda Gates – Pass the gates through which our ancestors entered the Temple.
  • Kidron Valley – See the epic monolith Tombs in the Kidron Valley – Yad Avshalom and Kever Zecharya

Finish at the Kotel at 6:30 in time for Mincha

A super fun day for kids and adults alike including swimming in a spring, and a Biblical Carnival!

Leave Jerusalem at 9

  • Ein Mabua – Start the day with a short water hike and swimming in a spring. A great way for the kids to get out their energy.
  • Beit El – See the site of Jacob’s Dream and the Temple of Yeravam ben Navat.
  • Shilo Biblical Carnival – Shilo is the site where the Mishkan stood for 369 years and where Chana prayed to have a child and was answered. During Chol Hamoed the ancient site is filled with different activities and stations for children and adults. Try your hand and weaving, writing with a quill and other fun activities. We’ll have a couple of hours there for the kids to enjoy plus we’ll learn about this amazing historic site.

Ein Gedi, Masada, Dead Sea

  • Ein Gedi – 1 hour hike along the Nahal David with time to enter the pools and waterfalls. This the site where David cut the corner from Saul’s robe and where an ancient Jewish city was famous for producing the Afarsimon perfume that was coveted around the ancient world.
  • Masada – Take the cable car up Masada for a tour of this amazing site where the Jews continued to hold out against the Romans even after the Temple was destroyed.
  • Dead Sea – Float in the Dead Sea at Ein Bokek. You’ll have the option to go to the separate beach or the regular beach which are right next to one another.
